Chief Merchandising Officer
Lenskart is in search of a entrepreneurial, agile, energetic and proactive leader to head the Omni Channel Merchandising function. Someone who is passionate about leveraging technology and new age Merchandising Management Systems and Processes. The incumbent should be passionate about Product, with a strong sense of Consumers & Design. S/He should see themselves as a Curator, from design to retail placement.
The person should have a proven track-record in large-scale retail merchandising and communication for a successful, high-growth brand. S/He should have a keen sense of numbers, and believe in making data-driven decisions.
•Lead the merchandising function across both online and offline stores, with key focus on the technology of modern Merchandising in an Omni-channel set-up.
•Utilize category and market analysis to create a supply strategy that will maximize long-term opportunities and competitive advantage.
•Deliver a collection that resonates with the diverse communities across India
•Focus on sustaining profitability with high growth in a high margin business
•Implement Tech enabled Merchandising Management Systems and Planning – to deliver best in class/freshest products at all points in time
•Work with Buying and Design to support and infuse the building of a balanced product proposition
•Operate an effective/timely product sign off process, appropriate for product lead-time – adhering to the “Buying, Merch and Design Calendar”.
•Identify promotional opportunities and manage the process.
•Establish and foster relationships to improve commercial partnerships, long-term flow of goods and product opportunities.
•Maximize long-term commercial opportunities and minimize areas of risk, acting on performance analysis, sound judgement and change management.
•Take accountability for delivering a balanced and considered range against planned financials.
•Identify opportunities to improve inventory asset utilization to drive sales and margin for the businesses.
•Analyze trading patterns, challenge and advise teams to ensure appropriate action is taken.
•Work within merchandising as well as across the business to continuously develop best practice working (process and systems).
•Work in collaboration with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure seamless execution of the key stories in the Retail channel.
•Bachelor’s degree in Fashion (preferably)
•Passion for technology, futuristic thinking, and agility
•Experience in fashion retail or e-commerce, focusing specifically on product development and merchandising
•Focus on Tech-enabled Merchandising Management Systems and Planning
•Experience strategizing, running, analyzing, improving supplier, product strategies and managing teams
•Multi region exposure with ability to recognize and identify new trends
•Proven ability and knowledge of sourcing, importing and costing
•Experience understanding and analyzing financial concepts and data to identify opportunities and risks of change on category and suppliers
•Ability to influence leadership cross functionally to develop, roll out and continuously improve supplier partnerships
•Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills that can be leveraged in developing supplier and vendor relationships
•Proficient in presentation skills with the ability to understand how to communicate initiatives or strategies at different levels of the organization
